So I went to see it on Friday night.

In short: HOLY CRAP THAT WAS AWESOME!

Full of epic action scenes, awesome character development, drama etc etc. The great thing about it is that you don't even have to be a fan to watch it either. It really is something that anyone can go into without knowing anything about Star Trek, and you'll still enjoy it (as was the case with a work-mates girlfiend, and me overhearing someone as we walked out of the theatre). It does a pretty darn good job of catering for both audiences.

The in-jokes may have some of you laughing out loud

The only thing that made it difficult to watch at times actually comes from J.J.Abrams style of filming, in that the camera tends to skake around a lot of the time. It makes it a bit hard to follow what's happening in action scenes like fist-fights, but if you sit in the middle of the theatre it's probably not so much of a problem (we were sat a few rows from the front). That said, he's done a great job direction this movie and the writers a great job of re-introducing all the main characters and putting together a well-structured story. What's better is that with the way they've done it, they can now go wherever they want from here and it won't be stepping on fans' toes.

Also, Sylar as Spock = WIN
