kmanic.co.ukProgress report 2IT LIIIIIIIIIIVES!!!
Finally got that bloody code working thanks to the guys at work (who gave me the idea in the first place). Now the content loads into the DIV just like it should without issue, and the Lightbox script is working correctly. Oddly enough, it turns out that a large part of the reason the code wasn't working was because it was running from my external hard drive. Dunno why, but it refused to run any scripts from there, but it works perfectly from the C: drive.
So, only a few things left to do now:
Fix an SWF playing issue within the DIV (should be easy),Rework section heading,Finish coding all pages,Select the images to go on display and create thumbnails,Upload index.html page: site goes live! With any luck, assuming this all goes smoothly, the site should be live in about 5 days

Progress report 1Hokay. I've got most of the site working the way it should (apart from Lightbox working on my IE7 but not the one at work; dunno what that's all about).
A few more hurdles though, all technically complex (to me, anyway). So if any coders can help me out with this that'd be awesome
I still cannot get any variation of the AJAX or JS coding to load content into the "content" DIV. Not even iFrames want to load for some reason, neither new content or any live websites. The flash menu currently loads into a new tab locally, but not at all in the live version in FF. In IE7 it loads in a new tab both locally and live. Both are wrong since it should load into the DIV where it's targetted (not that I know nearly enough AS2 to know what I'm doing). The files are identical so I'm not sure what's happening there.Where the hell do I find jquery.js? Everything seems to be some kind of variation of it.Why is there no clear instruction online for how to put this all together? Something preferably for those new to AS2 and AJAX without the need to learn both languages in full.Okay, I'm ranting near the end there but the fact remains that I suck too much to find the info I need

I was REALLY hoping to have that code working by now, having found 3 different examples...

Original postYeah, it's a portfolio site, but I thought that'd be a funny promotional image to use

Not that there's much to go on, but thoughts are welcome.
Also, if there's anyone out there with even the
slightest idea of how to get an SWF to load HTML content into a div (through use of Ajax), please point me in the right direction because finding info about it online
that is actually relevant seems to be near impossible.
I'll get to all the unanswered messages and stuff in the morning; now it's time for bed

Son of a bitch, stand up straight!
I'm not sure about AJAX, but I may be able to teach you it through Flash itself. However, you'd need knowledge of AS3 for that which, by the sounds of it, you don't know.
