'Sup guys?

The BIMA awards ceremony was last night, which is a rather prestigious award within the creative media industry. Us lot at Koko Digital all went down to London for it as we were nominated in 2 categories.
In short, it was a night of much fun for all The entertainment they had there (at club Koko, no less!) was great, particularly this beatboxer that came up, who I think was named Beardyman if I recall correctly. That guy was fantastic, hilariously funny at times, and pretty much held a 20 minute set on his own.

As for the actual awards themselves, we just missed out on the regular Games category, but when it came to the Special Award for Viral Spread - a category chosen by the judges themselves - it was a VERY pleasant surprise to find that we had won that award with our game Werefore Art Thou Romeo. There was some very strong competition for this one, so needless to say we were over the moon once we were announced the winners Along with the fact that we had just previously won 2 awards at the Roses Awards a few weeks beforehand, this certainly made our night.
So, we all got rather drunk as you can imagine Had a great night socialising and networking with other industry guys and such.

This morning was fun though. On the way back home (not even out of London yet, actually) I started feeling a bit ill. Granted I was still a little hungover, a bit of a head and neck ache that I can mostly blame on the crappy pillow at the hotel, but I was feeling fine until we got in the car. One of the guys handed me an empty coffee cup, and amazingly nobody noticed when I eventually threw up in it. Apparently I'm that much of a ninja that no-ones sees me in plain sight, lol. Felt WAY better after that of course.

So yeah, all in all it was a great night (aside from throwing up of course) and we got one of the most prestigious awards in the industry
Shame we had to put up with one of the guys' beer induced emissions all the way back up the M6. Not pleasant, lol

In other news, I bought the Ions. They are awesome Now I just need to buy that third cymbal...

Hey guys! This is what's been keeping us so busy for the last few weeks. It's a platform game we've been working on to promote radio DJ Chris Moyles' new parody album. Here's all the solicitation text and such for ya:



Welcome to Parody Island, the brand new action platformer from Koko, featuring the one and only Chris Moyles!

You must take Chris through 15 challenging levels to collect the notes which make up his album tracks but watch out, Parody Island is full of pests including killer rabbits and nagging girlfriends that need to be avoided at all costs.

Featuring audio commentary from Chris Moyles himself, Parody Island is a real test of skill and one that will keep you hooked for ages. The star rating allows players to improve on their score and the world ranking system allows you to compete and become the best player in the world.

The game also allows you to listen to real track samples and you can also win a Sony PSP with signed copies of the album!

At nearly £300 for the kit and extra cymbal I must be crazy... but I'm seriously considering it.
Heck, I can even buy a drum brain so I can use it for real practice. Well, as close to real as you can get without buying a specialised electronic kit, anyway. I wonder if it's possible to set this up with the Hi-Hat pedal as well?

Whoa.
This week has been crazy.
Honestly, all week it's been all hands on deck to get everything for this game finished. Balls-to-the-wall kind of mad-rush. It's going out the start of next week, and considering the real short amount of time we've had it's amazing how well this has turned out. I was still animating characters up until midweek and just finished some of the last few images a few hours ago.
All that remains is to iron out the bugs, get it all tied together and looking pretty and it's done

Everyone's knackered, but this game is looking sweeeeeeet.

This journal would be more coherent, but I'm tired. Gonna go home and make myself even more tired by smacking the hell out of the drums on Guitar Hero

I'll start with the usual. Sorry for the recent inactivity around here, I've just had other things keeping me from drawing up and posting new stuff. I'm gonna try and find time to get something up here, though most of anything I've done recently is either for work or quick gifts for a few close friends.

As I've not been on much I've not been able to get back to everyone, so I say "Hi!" to all the new watchers and favers. I'll try and get back on track with all this soon as I can.

All that said, on to the main topic of the journal.
I've pretty much gone from having the odd thing to be working on, to suddenly being insanely busy over the next month or so. I bunch of projects have just fallen on my lap so I'm not gonna have much time at all to work on much else. If I don't reply for ages that's probably why. That said, I'll still be checking in from time to time such as I tend to do, so I'll at least know if anyone asked anything and I'll try to get back to them.

So yeah, gonna be busy, hehe

Finally; London Expo in 2 weeks. I'll be going with my boys, lemme know if you're gonna be there!
