Pretentious title, I know, but there is a point to it. I'll let you read into it. I'll just say that nothing is truly black and white
I drew the lineart for this nearly a year ago and started painting it in watercolour but quickly quit. After a while I considered continuing but never got around to it. Anyway, I was looking for some old linearts on my comp that needed colouring and came across this one. I thought it would be fun to have a go at it in Open Canvas using a new colouring technique I read on a tutorial on dA (unfortunately I can't remember the deviant that posted it). I must say that while it took me a while to get that hang of colouring this way I had a lot of fun doing it I'm really pleased with the outcome of this piece, particularly the wings (took forever) and the devil girl's top. My only real problems with it are:
1. There are some anatomical errors which I could draw better today, and;
2. Some of the lighting tones are off or too sharp.
Other than that I'm genuinely happy with this one Some small detail was lost when I resized it but I don't mind. I would have posted a bigger version but I don't want to make people have to download a huge file. I'm considering getting a prints account, is this worth selling?
Reference: Other than colouring tutorial, none.
Media: Inked lineart, Open Canvas 3.05e, PSP7 for finishing touches
Rawr! Dispite the linework being a year old, i still think this is wicked awesome! I adore the coloring job you did on this! The devil chick's outfit looks great! The wings for incredible, it was worth the time spent eh?

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
