-Page o' Sketches-

:icongoddessffx: GoddessFFX's vampire character, Ronda MacDougal.

This one is rather late (to say the least). In retrospect, I probably should have drawn each sketch a bit larger to make better use of the page ^^'
Drawing that mouth full of vampire teeth with pretty fun, though. :)

If I didn't know any better I'd say you're getting better. I noticed this because this is a non anthro artwork. In the past they seem okay but this 1 seems somewhat better than before. I miss seeing you work brother. I hope you been doing well this past holidays.

I'm hoping the next one will be even better still. I'd like to think that I'm actually improving, though I really should draw actual people more often than just character designs at work.

I've been fine, btw. Mostly just trying to get back into the groove and all.

Well, I look foward to it and I believe you will. Considering that you are trying to get back in the groove, I'd say youre skills are just as good. But still to be completely honest, I LOVE the hell out of your anthros better. If there is something you are perfect in.....its drawing anthros beautifully. Hey, I hope you dont take long breaks in between. I really am trying to get into drawing and I'd love to engage in discussions with you. I know I havent even posted up artwork at this time, but I really am being inspired as time passes. I been looking at various anthro artist's work and just being convinced to do the same in my own way. If it is alright with you, can we have daily discussions on here....using our notes? Because I would love that. I would love to talk to the creator of the one and only beautiful Felicia Nightshade. :D

Btw, it seems someoen misunderstood my previous comment. If you can explain it to them, that'd be great.

so you're saying it's harder to draw real people than anthro? I disagree. I think this person is a wonderful artist and there anthro pieces look proportionate and real. I think it's more difficult do draw something made up and make it look right than to draw something that you see every day (people) and have references for.

Allow me to jump in here. :)

I think the general view is that it tends to be easier to draw anthro characters than human since there's more free-reign to create something that isn't as bound to reality. Drawing people is generally considered harder since we already recognise what a human face looks like and will more readily notice if something doesn't look right.
With anthro it's true that you can create something more imaginary, and that's both harder and easier at the same time, I think. You've got a whole range of possibilities for things that can be drawn based on all the creatures in the world (and some that don't exist, strictly speaking), but with that you can have more fun and freedom with it. To be fair though, the same could still be said of anything else in the world.

Personally I don't find it any easier of harder, but it's true that I'm more practiced with anthro faces than human ones, so they tend to come out a little better. That's something I'm working on though. :)

Um no, that is NOT what I said at all. And if you think that I am harshly Judging funkyalien then you are completely wrong. I am just saying its not often that I see him draw humans and that this one seems different that the rest. How dare you even think that. Funkyalien is a good friend of mine here. We may not talk all the time but thats cuz he is busy. I consider him like a brother and would give him the time of the day to express my love for his art. Please read my comments more carefully before making any kind of assumption like that.

Hm, to be fair I think you may have over-reacted a bit here. She's merely posing an alternate view on which of the two is more difficult rather than judging your opinion on the matter. Some people find humans harder to draw, and others find anthro harder. Both may be correct; it just depends on which they're more practiced with, which tends to align directly with their interests in either subject.
Basically she wasn't posting an attack on your opinion or views, nor making any assumptions on them.

Well thanks for clearing that up bro, but I didn't ask which 1 was harder. Although I will be thankful but now I know. This will come in handy because I am intending to draw. I want to drop both people and and throws. 1 character in particular is the same person just with different embodiments. But I'm gloating it was just on the singer standing. Besides, we both know how much I deeply love your artwork. Regardless of the content. Although your anthros are a personal favorite. :-)

But about my earlier question, do you think it's possible that we can engage in a discussion once in awhile? I have been talking to several artist lately and the old have been very helpful. And just like you coming today told me the same helpful advice that every artist will agree on, and that is to start practicing. 1 of the artist that I was talking to is my very own girlfriend and will you believe me, her name is Felicia as well. What actually it's Felicity but it still the same name. And she draws anthros as well Volvo hers lax for and that is 1 of the features I love about anthro artwork.

Its cool brother but thanks for saying that.

I understand completely. You have been away from beating art recently and this past year because there must have been something that caught your attention firmly. You must have a busy life and I can't imagine that. Anyways I will try to send you notes regarding questions I may have.

Another thing I want to mention, there were several replies to post I have brought up in the past that I still want to talk about. You will get notifications when I start talking about them. I didn't finish our old conversations because I was skeptical that you not reply to my comments. But I think I will open up our old discussions. :)

Actually a lot of anthro (and animal) artists say that drawing people are harder to draw. I remember reading one person say they can draw the male body very well but could never draw the face, so they'd always end up drawing some sort of animal. I find drawing humans harder than anthros myself.
