Hoo boy, it's about time I uploaded this, eh? I fixed part of the music that was bothering me so now here it is for you all to see. The original comment follows.
My finished degree animation! I'm so glad to finally see this finished, I was starting to get sick of looking at it
Production time was 3-4 months, with me doing ALL of the animation without the use of assistant animators. I would have used them, but I simply couldn't bring myself to let anyone else touch it as I wasn't certain they'd produce it the way I wanted. That's bad, I know, but in a professional environment I wouldn't have a problem with it. Since, you know, they'd be trained professionals :/
I'd like to give a shout to those that helped with things like moral support and critiques, as well as Chris for getting the photo for the panning shot of the Ember Lounge. FYI, rendering that shot took forever but I'm happy with it.
If I'm honest, I hate the music. Tried to make it similar to my minor film
Getting Ready, which I did, but I just dislike it. That's what happens when you compose your own music and you're not a composer.
There are certain things I had to change about this from the first film, the main one being the lack of a thick outline around the characters. This was easy to do with one character on her own, but when it came to having the three girls interact with each other it became messy and overly complex, particularly as they were sometimes animated separately and at other times all together.
The backgrounds are also rendered more as solid shapes with minimal shading. With there being 14 backgrounds it would have been far too time consuming to render them all fully, especially as I was already short on time to finish.
Overall I'm fairly pleased with this. It could be better in places and there could be some background animation, but I simply ran out of time. It was a lot for me to take on by myself and I think I did well with it. I'm just glad to see it done!
Well I could pull it to pieces but I'll shut up and let you watch it. Enjoy
